Technology Reflection
“How technology changes our life in some aspects such as education, medicine, life, the way we communicate, and the way we respond etc.”
I think technology has done better overall than bad to education, medicine, life, the way we communicate, and the way we respond. Technology is used to communicate faster, capture moments in time, help cure things and makes things easier to understand.
Many people like to criticize how phones can control a big portion of our life but without them many thigs wouldn't be possible. Calling people is something we take for granted but as we get older and move away from people, we love we have the option to call them. Taking pictures is something I personally enjoy because pictures are something capture something in the present to enjoy in the future. I do think people should not let photos control them and enjoy their time in the present as well.
In the education department education is used to make things faster and easier overall. Class assignments can be posted on a classroom site and videos can be shown because of technology. The school uses technology to keep date that is useful for the students. phones are placed in classrooms to call school offices to call parents or guardian. Online classes and zoom help students to keep learning when they can't attend physically.
My favorite way technology has changed lives is the more options for personal enjoyment. I use technology to listen to music while I go on walks or watch shows and YouTube videos at home to pass the time. I also enjoy taking photos and using social media which is a big thing on its own. I do think people should monitor how much time they spend time on their phone, watching shows or stuff like that because it can take away from things that do matter.
Technology has expanded our communication forms and created advancements in education and medicine. It is extraordinary what technology can do to improve health and communication. Technology also comes with plenty of negatives. Too many people become consumed with their phones and the social media it has to offer. This type of use can lead to addictive tendencies. The highly-addictive apps create dopamine in the brain to keep consumers coming back and back and back. The apps are habit-forming, which in perspective, leads to less person-to-person interaction or dysregulation. I think if a good balance can be found with technology, such as analysis of data which helps us implement more data in specific areas, which helps us overall. Technology has helped create more minimal techniques in surgery. All these are great for people, if used wisely.
ReplyDeleteI agree that on our phones we can do many things like calling our friends and family. Calling people from far distance. And being able to capture moments with just a click on our phone. Our phones can help us communicate and learn new things by researching. But I agree with Rebecca, our phones can lead to addictive tendencies. I remember losing sleep over video games and watching movies but learning how to balance the use of it can be good.
