Reflection of 3 articles: TPACK, Net Generation, Teaching and Technology-Apple

                     Technology and teaching are something that is complex. You can be smart with technology but not know how to use it in teaching or you can be a great teacher but don't know how to implement technology well in class. In the TPACK article it talks about content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge and technology knowledge. You need to have understanding and mastery of all those kinds of knowledges to effectively teach in the classroom with technology. I don't think people understand how much a teacher needs to understand to be a good teacher. You can't just understand the subject your area teaching, but you also need to understand the technology you are teaching with and how to use good teaching methods as well. I enjoyed reading the Net generation article the most. I liked it because I enjoy looking at data. It gave a lot of date on percentage of certain generations on their use of technology. I didn't get my first phone until the 7th grade, but my family wasn't wealthy. Some of my friends go their phone at 6th grade. Now a lot of kids get their phones at younger grades like 4th grade or even earlier. I personally think kids shouldn't have social media until 8th grade or even 9th grade. Which might seem crazy for some people, but I think social media is more hurtful and drastic for younger kids. The teaching and technology article discusses on who benefits from technology in the classroom. After reading it I would say both students and teacher benefit. Students benefit because they might learn new skills or find skills that they never knew they had. An example of a skill can be good at designing or being good at photo editing. Teachers benefit because they can make teaching easier and better for students.
